We know the value of data to direct and inform instruction, which is why we provide multiple assessment options within the curriculum to identify areas for growth, monitor progress, and evaluate mastery of skills. Our surveys also make it possible to gather feedback on school environment and the relevancy and quality of lessons.

How do I measure school climate and student/staff needs?

These complementary surveys can be used by students and staff to measure strengths and deficits in school climate and student behavior. They parallel School-Connect learning objectives and can be used as both a needs assessment and ongoing, general progress monitoring.

Assessments

How do I measure School-Connect effects and student progress?

Track your students’ skill-building progress through each module with built-in assessments. All modules include:

Progress Monitoring Assessments: These assessments are comprised of student self-reports and teacher observation forms to measure and track skill development with ease and accuracy. Each item on the assessments aligns with lesson learning objectives and assesses observable skills. We suggest using these assessments as pre/post measures to capture data and track growth.
Project-Based Learning (PBL): These culminating projects allow students to demonstrate mastery of the target skills covered in each module. Each PBL also encourages students to hone their collaboration and communication skills through group projects.
End-of-Module Assessment: These application-based assessments consist of multiple-choice and open-ended questions that require students to apply knowledge and skills to given situations and their personal lives. The provided answer key and lesson-by-lesson formatting make these assessments versatile. You can pull questions from a specific lesson to gather formative data or give the full assessment at the end of a module to use as a summative grade. These assessments also include a 10-item survey to measure class climate and School-Connect satisfaction.

How do I measure student and educator satisfaction with School-Connect lessons?

Collect input from students and teachers to assess the benefits of School-Connect. Items measure the relevancy of topics, enjoyment, benefit of lessons, ease of application to personal life, and impact on classroom climate. Additionally, specific items for educators encourage reflection on best teaching practices to maximize student impact.
